The Albany International Folk ’n’ Shanty Festival is back, and this year’s Irish theme promises more music, merriment, and mischief than ever before, marking the BIGGEST festival to date.
With the bulk of the action entirely free and unticketed, festival‑goers can enjoy more shanty groups than any previous year, almost 200 individual performers (across more than 50 acts!), ten buzzing venues across Albany’s CBD, four ticketed events, shanty singing, folk music, Irish dance, the lively Poets’ Breakfast, a kids’ program at the Library, Tug O’ War, markets, sessions, and of course the beloved Shipload of Shanty singalong.
