Kaya kaya! Welcome to Albany International Folk ‘n’ Shanty Festival 2024!

This year we return to Makuru; the Indigenous season of fertility when the annual migration of Humpback and Southern Right Whales is in full swing, and the country begins to show the first signs of purple and blue flowers.

There couldn’t be a better time to invite you here and join in our celebration of music and maritime culture.

From fireside folk sessions and concerts, to full blown pub shanty singing, from tales of pirates, whales and shipwrecks; the Albany International Folk ‘n’ Shanty Festival turns historic Albany/Kinjarling into a playground of maritime culture. Set on the shores of the majestic waters of Mamang Koort (Heart of the Whale), join us for a festival that celebrates the heart and soul of place.
