I’m an artist, how do I apply for the festival?

All artists need to complete an Artist Expression of Interest Form to be considered for the festival. To be the first to hear when the AEOI is open, please sign-up to our newsletter.

Can I volunteer?

Yes we’d love to hear from you, please complete a Festival Volunteer Application Form.

GENERAL

Where does the festival take place?

All festival venues are located walking distance from each other in Albany’s CBD.

Where can I stay?

There are numerous options for accommodation in central Albany. You can browse a comprehensive list here.

Is this a family friendly event?

The folk music tradition embraces the whole community – all ages welcome! Please note that children need to be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian at all times in licensed venues. Depending on the artist, there may be language or content that you consider unsuitable for your children.

When will I know who’s performing?

We aim to announce headliners 8 weeks prior to the festival. The full line-up of artists is available to view on our website in the 6 week lead-up to the festival.

When can I see a printed programme?

We release a full programme schedule approx. 1 month before the festival, and distribute printed copies to venues in Albany immediately prior to the festival.

TICKETING

What’s the deal with tickets, I thought the festival was entirely free?

2023 saw the introduction of ticketed concerts that take place during the festival. The majority of the festival which occurs across public venues in Albany’s CBD remains entirely free and unticketed. To be the first to hear when ticketed concerts go on sale, please sign-up to our newsletter.

How much do tickets cost?

We have kept ticket prices under $40 per ticket, per ticketed concert. The structure of our ticketing may be remodelled in festivals to come, we will announce any changes closer to the festival. The majority of the festival which takes place across public venues in Albany’s CBD remains entirely free and unticketed.

Do you offer concession prices?

No we don’t. We have structured our ticketing with the goal of affordability for as many folks as possible.
