She Shants are slightly subversive, sometimes sweet, very whimsical and always sassy! They sing traditional and original songs from the maritime women’s point of view,and how they deal with waiting and loss. Their fascination with mythological sea creatures can be heard in the mournful tales of mermaids, sirens and selkies, or of the lonely kraken only looking for love. Performing with a variety of instruments including the ukelele, autoharp, fiddle and hand drum, She Shants bring an infectious joy to their 3-part harmonies which can either bring the audience to tears or have them laughing in stitches.
