The Salty Yaks
The Salty Yaks are a seven-piece folk and shanty band from the heart of Albany, WA. Grown on the windswept shores and rich seafaring history of our coastal town, they blend timeless folk melodies and traditional shanties with original songs, all crafted to capture the spirit of the land and sea. They feature fiddle, banjo, accordion and drums, bringing a fresh energy to both classic tunes and new tales inspired by Albany’s whaling heritage.
